I am here to help you have a better horse life by being your success guide in your Horse-Man-Ship journey.

History

My Parelli initiative began when I attended a Parelli Conference in my area as a young teenager – the horsemanship from this event was so mind-blowing that it was like watching The Black Stallion movie when Alex plays with the Black on the beach – easy, fluid, no-stress, and the true definition of real Horse-Man-Ship. I always wanted to have a profession with horses, but it was at that specific event that I knew I wanted to be involved with Parelli.

Horses have always been a passion of mine, but I did not come from a home that owned or had easy access to horses. My determination to be around and play with horses found me with a local Wild Horse Advocate group where I helped rescue, start, and train wild horses acquired off the Nevada range. This association evolved into a 4-H horse project progressing to colt starting a Mustang that was gifted to me. The skills and knowledge provided by the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program helped and guided me through many challenges with the horses I was handling at that time, both my own and those associated with the Wild Horse Advocates.

My love for horses and horsemanship inspired me to further my education by attending the University of Nevada Reno and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in animal science as well as becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Nevada. This knowledge gave me better technical and scientific training with animals, but also allowed me to continue my commitment with my personal horsemanship.

My horsemanship continued to flourish as I spent much time with many professionals in various avenues of natural horsemanship. I continue to study with many of these horsemen/women today. Not only is horsemanship important to me, but so is educating those seeking the knowledge. I have always had a knack for teaching (it might run in the family), and I love helping humans and their horse partner(s) have a better understanding of concepts for success.

Because of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program, I have learned that safety and a solid foundation for horse and human are not interchangeable; therefore, it is my lifelong mission to help you have a better horse life by being your success guide in your Horse-Man-Ship journey!

Part deux of the Parelli clinic series: the weather dropped to 30 degrees, the wind was whipping, we had snow! flurries, the tumbleweeds were tumbling, and the demon ponies were ponying in the adjacent property and all-in-all a very hyped environment to have a learning sessions - and yet!!!! We learned and grew just little bit more.

Kevin's listening skills grow stronger, my movements more precise in my asking. We worked on hind quarter yields, jumping barrels, and being brave enough in our 1100 lbs to not hide our nose up in another horses bum. Kevs default safe space is to rest his chin on my shoulder, so we've stayed connected by the end. Tough but excellent clinic Jessica Ponte

Levi has graduated from pulling the stone boat. Today was his second time pulling a carriage and his first time wearing blinders! (Levi is closest to the camera.) This has taken me over a year to accomplish but I am super pleased with how nicely he’s going....

Olivia and I are making so much progress even on the days that she likes to be a young mare and give me attitude

We concurred walking across a bridge and made it around the scary barrels in a figure 8 pattern. We’ve grown so much as a team since we started with Jessi and I couldn’t be more excited to see how much more the partnership we’ve created continues to grow.
